Abstract
This article concentrates on the study of stability of an S-l epidemic model with maturation delays. Using the Nyquist criterion on the char acteristic equation, an estimate on the length of delay is given for w hich a system which is stable in the absence of delays remains stable. Conditions are derived for which there are no change in stability. Su fficient conditions for global stability of endemic equilibrium have b een obtained by the construction of a suitable Lyapunov functional.
