Abstract
Doped poly(1-alkyl 2,5-pyrrolylenes) (alkyl= hexyl and dodecyl) are sy nthesized by oxidative coupling of the corresponding N-alkyl pyrroles in nitromethane using excess FeCl3 as the oxidant. The electrical cond uctivities of the doped polymers lie in the range, 10(-5) to 10(-6) S/ cm. The doped polymers are stable in air. Rationalizations are present ed for conductivity in relation to polymer structure.
