The analysis of a series of aromatic oligomers and an additional model
compound by means of NMR and FT-Raman spectroscopy and the comparison
of these data with the spectroscopic data of poly(4,5,6,7-tetrafluoro
isothianaphthene) (PTFITN) indicate that the enhanced solubility but t
he larger bandgap should be the consequence of highly twisted aromatic
isothianaphthene units.
