Abstract
We studied the mechanisms of induction and antiviral action of interfe ron-induced Mr proteins responsible for genetic resistance of the cell s to certain RNA viruses. Mathematical model of regulating the virus-i nterferon-Mx1 system was elaborated. The role of virus-and interferon- mediated expression of Mx1 in the maintenance of antiviral state was s tudied using a mathematical model. Synergistic action of interferon an d virus in controlling Mx1 expression proved to be an important factor of antiviral resistance. We propose that virus-and interferon-induced Mx1 proteins affect different stages of influenza virus intracellular replication. The modeling suggests that trimer is the active form of Mx1.
