Electropolymerization of a new thiophene derivative 3,4-methylenedioxy
thiophene was studied on indium tin oxide electrodes and platinum in d
ifferent organic solvents (acetonitrile, propylene carbonate, and nitr
obenzene). Electropolymerization potentiodynamically in anhydrous nitr
obenzene resulted in best polymeric films, which were compact and tigh
tly adhered to the substrate surface. The properties of these films we
re compared to those previously published for poly(3,4-ethylenedioxyth
iophene).
