The reaction between lead(II) acetate and 2-acetylpyridine N-4-methylt
hiosemicarbazone (H4ML) produced a complex of the formula [Pb(4ML)(OOC
Me)] with an unusual polymeric structure in which the lead atom is hep
ta-coordinate, the deprotonated thiosemicarbazone is a tetradentate br
idge, and the acetate group both chelates and bridges. The complex cry
stallizes in the triclinic space group P (1) over tilde with a = 8.860
