Abstract
3-(p-trimethylammoniumphenyl)bithiophene was synthesized. The correspo nding polymer was made by electropolymerization and characterized usin g cyclic voltammetry, spectroelectrochemistry and the quartz crystal m icrobalance. The polymer underwent both p- and n-doping and exhibited distinct color changes upon doping. The quartz crystal microbalance sh owed that anions are primarily involved in the doping process.
