Abstract
Copoly(m-phenyleneisophthalamide)s and y(m-phenyleneisopropylidenedi-4 ,4'-dicarboxylate)s with fragments of 2,6-distyrylnaphthalene, 9,10-di styrylanthracene, 5,5''-distyryl-2,2':5',2''-terthiophene and 3'-dodec yl-2,2':5',2''-terthiophene have been prepared. The absorption, excita tion and fluorescence spectra of these copolymers as well as correspon ding model compounds were studied and compared. The photophysical prop erties of the investigated polymers suggest that these materials could be good candidates for the fabrication of efficient blue- and green-l ight-emitting diodes.
