Abstract
Dipole moments and polarizabilities of different excited states of ura cil and cytosine 5-halo derivatives have been calculated using solvent shift methods and CNDO/S calculations. The results are discussed in r elation to different solute-solvent interactions and the nature of the electronic transition. (C) 1997 Elsevier Science B.V.
