Abstract
Measurements of Si and Mg concentrations across dendrites in a commerc ial Al-Si-7Mg alloy have shown a higher Si concentration in dendrite c enters decreasing towards the dendrite boundaries, which is opposite t o what would be expected from the phase diagram. (C) 1998 Elsevier Sci ence S.A.
