Abstract
A 58-year-old patient with metastasizing squamous cell carcinoma of th e left lung developed fever, diffuse abdominal pain and profuse diarrh ea while treated with paclitaxel and radiation therapy. A sigmoidoscop y was performed to exclude pseudomembranous colitis but showed multipl e mucosal petechiae. Histologic examination disclosed neutropenic coli tis. Conservative treatment was successful.
