Abstract
Cobalt-tin intermetallic compounds of different stoichiometries were s tudied by means of the perturbed angular correlation (PAC) technique. The hyperfine interaction parameters for Cd-III probes in the crystal lattices of CoSn2 and Co3Sn2 were determined. A T-3/2 temperature depe ndence of the electric field gradient (EFG) in CoSn2 compound was foun d. Due to the thermal interdiffusion in a bilayer Co/Sn sample the for mation of the stoichiometric CoSn phase was observed. (C) 1998 Elsevie r Science S.A.
