Abstract
We compared the C-14-ethanol technique and Xe-133-clearance for adipos e tissue blood flow measurements in young healthy subjects before and after exercise on an ergometer bicycle. The results showed a decrease in outflow/inflow ratio of C-14-ethanol during the basal situation bef ore the exercise, indicating an increased blood flow. However, there w as a great range of values, and no correlation between the C-14-ethano l technique and Xe-133-clearance was found. Our data indicate that the C-14-ethanol technique can not be recommended in its current form.
