Intrinsic viscosity [eta] and the diffusion (D) and buoyancy (-s) coef
ficients in chloroform were: measured for the samples of poly[4-vinylp
henylaminovinylideneketo (4-n-hexyl) phenylene], a comblike polymer wi
th hydrogen bonds in the side chains. power functions of [eta] and (-s
) vs. MM are characterized by power indexes, which differ significantl
y from 0.5, The effects of excluded volume and permeability of polymer
molecules on their hydrodynamic and conformational characteristics we
re studied, The length of the Kuhn segment obtained for the molecular
chain A = (20 +/- 1) nm significantly exceeds that for the comblike po
lymers studied earlier, This is explained both by specific features of
the structure of a mesogenic nucleus of the side chain and by the cha
racter of bonding of the side chain to the polymer backbone.
