Some results obtained by the application of adaptive optical filtering
to Young's fringe processing are presented. Light-developing layers f
rom silver bromide (AgBr) are used in a filter block with a lens optic
al configuration. As a result of the processing, suppression of the ze
ro order in the fringe Fourier spectrum is obtained which changes the
power distribution in the spectral orders and improves the information
capacity of the spectrum. The spatial-frequency spectrum adaptively p
rocessed is analysed with the aid of a numerical algorithm to determin
e the fringe informative parameters, i.e. fringe spacing and orientati
on.
