Abstract
Chemomechanical deformation of polyaniline has been studied in a varie ty of aqueous acids such as HCl, HI, HBF4, HClO4, H2SO4 and Benzenesul fonic acid and also as the function of strain. The samples prepared fr om cast film and also gel form from NMP solution are tested. The elong ation ratios, i.e., the increment of elongation divided by the origina l length, is about 3 similar to 5% depending slightly on the acids, vi z., size of anions. The lifting power of load is 2 similar to 3MPa alo ng the stretched direction.
