We combine the precision electroweak tests with the cross sections for
e(+)e(-) --> W+W-(Z(0)Z(0)) to probe the parameters in the Sp(6)(L) X
U(1)(Y) model. In this model, the most important contribution comes f
rom the possible existence of extra gauge bosons, W'(+/-) and Z'(0), t
hrough their mixing with the ordinary W+/- and Z(0), and the effects o
f the extra bosons are parametrized by the mixing angles phi(Z) and ph
i(W). We find in this work that if the W(Z) pair-production cross sect
ion is measured at LEPII at an accuracy of about 3%, then the mixing a
ngles are constrained to be less than 1%. Thus, measuring the W(Z) pro
duction at LEPII should provide a very sensitive test to establish pos
sible extensions of the standard model.
