A. Voronel et al., UNIVERSAL VISCOSITY BEHAVIOR OF REGULAR AND GLASSFORMING IONIC MELTS, Journal of physics. Condensed matter, 9(16), 1997, pp. 247-249
Precise viscosity measurements of pure and mixed ionic melts (alkali h
alides and nitrates) have revealed their universal viscous behaviour.
All the data are well presented by one curve which is compatible with
an exponential formula at high temperatures but deviates from it in th
e low-temperature region. This deviation is still universal and agrees
with the behaviour of glassforming liquids. The mixture RbxNa1-x(NO3)
bridges the gap between the regular and glassforming ionic melts.
