L. Bankssills, A CONSERVATIVE INTEGRAL FOR DETERMINING STRESS INTENSITY FACTORS OF ABIMATERIAL STRIP, International journal of fracture, 86(4), 1997, pp. 385-398
Both conservative line and area integrals are derived from the Betti r
eciprocal principle to determine the stress intensity factor for a bim
aterial strip. Numerical results are presented to demonstrate the accu
racy of the methods. Several mesh types have been exploited to examine
the effect of meshing on the results. Stress intensity factors obtain
ed by means of the line integral vary somewhat between paths. Those fo
und by means of the area integral have the same value on different pat
hs.
