Y. Tokat et al., MULTICRITERIA DECISION-MAKING IN DESIGN OF PRINTED WIRE BOARDS, IEEE transactions on components, packaging, and manufacturing technology. Part B, Advanced packaging, 21(1), 1998, pp. 73-78
This paper presents an application of multicriteria decision making in
system level design of printed wire boards, The main decision variabl
e is the number of signal layers, and the criteria being considered ar
e the cost, electrical performance, and reliability. The weighting met
hod is first applied to find the most satisfactory solution, In the nu
merical example a complete description of the solution is given in ter
ms of the weights or importance factors, The numerical results also sh
ow the stability of the solution. The computations are then repeated b
y applying compromise programming and the Nash solution concept. In th
e case of compromise programming the l(1), l(2), and l(infinity) norms
are used, The numerical results obtained by the different methods are
compared.
