Vm. Koshkin et Yn. Dmitriev, METALS WITH STRUCTURAL VACANCIES - PREDICTION OF RADIATION STABILITY, MATERIALS RESEARCH INNOVATIONS, 1(2), 1997, pp. 97-100
A solution to the problem of radiation stability of metallic materials
for nuclear power reactors is suggested. It is by selecting and creat
ing alloys with structural (unhealable) vacancies, whose concentration
is determined precisely by the stoichiometry of alloys, but being ind
ependent of temperature and any other external influences. The advanta
ges as well as difficulties arising from the technical application of
radiation stable alloys proposed are considered.
