Abstract
We report on a severe case of peritonitis due to Staphylococcus lugdun ensis. The clinical course resembled an infection due to S. aureus mor e than one due to other coagulase-negative staphylococci. Therefore, w e strongly recommend identification and propose an easy-to-perform pro cedure for screening of this pathogen.
