A patient with a chronic encapsulated intracerebral haematoma presenti
ng with medically intractable epilepsy is described. A tough capsule c
ontaining an old haematoma was confirmed surgically, and consisted of
dense collagenous tissue with rich neovascularization. The radiologica
l features, aetiology and treatment of this rare occurrence are discus
sed.
