Abstract
Interventional duct occlusion with the Rashkind PDA occluder has becom e a widespread alternative treatment to surgery. Whereas residual shun ting is well-known, reopening of a completely occluded duet has been p ublished in only 3 cases. We report another case of a young adult in w hom ductal shunting reappeared after he had restarted physical exercis e and sports activities soon after the occlusion procedure. Recanaliza tion might have bren due to changing of the device position without em bolisation. A second Rashkind PDA occluder tvas successfully implanted 6 months after the first procedure with complete closure of the resid ual shunt.
