Abstract
Inclusive spectra of different ejectiles and coincidence spectra of al pha particles with various nuclides emerging from the collisions of C- 12 ions Of energy 344.5 MeV with a C-12 target have been measured. A l arge fraction of the observed cross section is contained in the contin uous part of the inclusive spectra. In the coincidence data the excita tion of states of intermediate nuclei is observed which indicates the sequential mechanism of the reaction. Calculations performed with a si mple phenomenological model of such processes reproduce well the shape and magnitude of both inclusive and coincidence spectra. The contribu tion of various reaction mechanisms to the total reaction cross sectio n is estimated.
