High lying excitations consisting of particle-hole plus two-particle t
wo-hole configurations coupled to the continuum are analyzed in Pb-208
. Partial decay widths are calculated and the effect of the two-partic
le two-hole excitatons upon the widths are assessed. It is found that
double giant resonance excitations are not mixed with other degrees of
freedom and that double monopole giant resonances are likely to be de
tected in Pb-208 by measuring dilepton (E0) emission.
