Abstract
We studied the ac Josephson effect. In the resistively shunted junctio n model (RSJ) the phase difference is expanded in Fourier series. The Fourier components can be evaluated by solving the equations of motion . Truncation is applied to deal with the infinite products and series of Bessel functions. We calculate the constant-voltage steps and find that they are complicate functions of the ac power input.
