Abstract
On the basis of the Jones vectors and matrices formalism a mathematica l model has been developed of a single-longitudinal-mode (four-frequen cy) ring gas laser with an arbitrary type of cavity anisotropy and wit h the backscattering phenomenon taken into account. In the case of lin ear cavity phase anisotropy the model proposed has shown qualitative a greement with known experimental results.
