Metastable states in the antiprotonic helium isotopic system (p) over
bar(3)He(+) were studied. Vibrational energy levels for the total angu
lar momentum J = 30-38 were calculated using a three-dimensional finit
e element method. The dipole transition probability formalism was used
to calculate the radiative decay rates of experimentally relevant tra
nsitions. Relativistic and QED corrections were calculated. Isotope ef
fects were studied based on a comparison of our presented data with re
cently published results for the (p) over bar(4)He(+) system.
