SYNCHRONIZATION IN DATA-NETWORKS

Synchronisation is of fundamental importance to the performance of dig ital networks, but the effects of poor network timing on the informati on being transported are often largely ignored. This paper provides an introduction to the subject of synchronisation, discusses the current BT network synchronisation arrangements and describes the platform be ing deployed to address both the current network requirements and the needs of future telecommunications technologies.
