Abstract
A new type of ultra-wide band(UWB) conical antennas ridged by a novel taper finline radiator(TFR) used as radiation and receiving of the sho rt pulse are developed. In which, a new UWB feed structure of a coplan ar waveguide to finline and a TFR ridge are used initially. The experi ment results show the characteristics of high fidelity, high efficienc y, and high gain compared with some common broad-band antennas such as the biconical antennas, V-conical antennas, logarithm periodic antenn as, and the other TEM horns.
