Abstract
Based on the recent QSO surveys it is shown that, contrary to the wide spread notion, high-luminousity QSOs are at least as numerous in the n earby universe as the ultraluminous far-infrared galaxies (ULIGs). The refore, the fraction of ULIGs that have got a hidden quasar at the nuc leus, for example in the dust shrouded phase, cannot be overwhelmingly large.
