VENOUS THROMBOEMBOLIC DISEASE

The advent of spiral CT has encouraged investigation into the diagnosi s of venous thromboembolic disease. It has also exposed the limitation s of prior methods of investigation and raised questions as to the sig nificance of small pulmonary emboli. This article discusses this new t echnique, the clinical detection of venous thromboembolic disease and possible current and future strategies in diagnosis.
