Abstract
The authors report a rare case of Salmonella typhi osteomyelitis invol ving the distal radius. The patient was treated successfully by wide r esection and reconstruction of the distal radius with a vascularized f ibular transfer. Local recurrence of infection did not occur. The free vascularized fibular graft is an effective procedure for the treatmen t of osteomyelitis of the distal radius.
