Abstract
A peracetylated alpha-D-ribofuranosyl bromide reacted with silylated h eterocyclic bases in the presence of bismuth (III) bromide (a non-toxi c catalyst) in a one-pot procedure to give the corresponding beta-D-nu cleoside in good yield.
