Abstract
A novel, compact, dual-frequency design for cutting a pair of bent slo ts in the centre of a rectangular patch is demonstrated. For fixed dua l-frequency operation, the proposed design provides an antenna-size re duction as high as 32%, compared to that of using a simple patch witho ut the slots. Experimental results of the proposed design, with variou s sizes of the bent slots, are presented and analysed.
