Abstract
An optimised sampled-grating DBR laser addressing 101 wavelengths over 44nm with an SMSR of > 30dB is reported. The output power variation u nder tuning is limited to only 5dB over the whole tuning range. The sw itching time between any of these channels varies between 4 and 25ns, depending on the wavelength excursion.
