Abstract
The strain-sensing ability of carbon fiber-reinforced cement was impro ved by ozone treatment of the fibers. The improvement pertains to bett er repeatability upon repeated loading (electrical resistance not decr easing from cycle to cycle) and increased gage factor (fractional chan ge in electrical resistance per unit strain).
