Abstract
Solid residues produced in pressurized fluidized bed combustion differ in their chemical and phase composition from those produced under atm ospheric pressure and even more from conventional fly ashes. They usua lly exhibit distinct hydraulic/pozzolanic properties and thus may be u sed, in combination with Portland clinker, as constituents of blended cements. Due to their high SO, content, the addition of gypsum to such binders has to be adjusted accordingly. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science Ltd .
