Abstract
The template condensation reaction of hydrazine hydrate with methyl ac etoacetate or ethyl acetoacetate in the presence of metal ions resulte d in the isolation of a new type of tetraamide macrocyclic complex [ML Cl2] IM = Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, Cu and Zn] [L = tetraamide macrocyclic ligan d]. All of the complexes are stable to the atmosphere and are non-elec trolytes. The compounds have been characterized by elemental analyses, IR, H-1 NMR, UV/VIS, EPR spectrocopy, conductivity and magnetic momen t data. An-octahedral geometry has been assigned to all complexes.
