We have extended the calculations of the hyperfine field and nuclear q
uadrupole coupling assuming the principal axis of the electric field g
radient (EFG) to be parallel to the hyperfine Geld (H-hf), to the case
where this parallelism does not exist; to obtain a more adequate repr
oduction of the Mossbauer spectra of Cd1-xFexCr2S4 (x = 0.01, 0.02) an
d Mn0.99Fe0.01Cr2S4. The parameters found are noticeably different fro
m those reported in the literature.
