Abstract
A detailed study of VO2+ in tetragonal mixed crystals Ca(HCOO)(2)-Sr(H COO)(2) has been carried out at room temperature. Impurity sites in th e unit, cell and the molecular structure of the vanadyl complexes in t he crystal are discussed. The spin-Hamiltonian parameters have been ca lculated from single crystal as well as the powder spectra. The g and A tensors are found to be axially symmetric. Correlating the optical a nd EPR data the molecular orbital coefficients and crystal-field param eters are calculated and discussed.
