Abstract
Catalytic activity of magnesium and zinc phosphates was investigated i n butan-2-ol conversion, by proceeding during the reaction to selectiv e poisonings by pyridine and acetic acid. The comparison of catalysts performances showed that the zinc phosphate exhibited basic sites stro nger than those existing on magnesium phosphate. These sites are activ e in the alcohol dehydrogenation. Their strength seems to depend on th e nature of the cations and the structure of the anhydrous phase.
