Bp. Vlasov et Im. Volovikova, STRUCTURAL CONTROL AND ZONALITY OF URANIUM-MOLYBDENUM ORES OF THE KURDAI DEPOSIT (SOUTHERN KAZAKHSTAN), Geology of ore deposits, 39(2), 1997, pp. 156-163
The Kurdai deposit is confined to a linear vent of a Devonian paleovol
cano. In contrast to most uranium-molybdenum deposits, it is located i
n basement rocks of a volcanic depression in the zone of a large fault
, where magmatic and hydrothermal processes of different ages were ver
y active. Formation of fracture systems took place under the overlying
cover of a slightly dislocated volcanogenic-sedimentary complex, mani
festing a sharp inhomogeneous vertical structure and controlling local
ization of preore metasomatites and ore mineralization.
