Abstract
The insoluble indium-tungsten chain cluster, Na-2[W3InO4(O2CEt)(8)](2) , has been prepared from the self-assembly reaction of W(CO)(6), Na2WO 4 . 2H(2)O and InCl3 in propionic anhydride at 120 degrees C. The octa metallic dianion, [W3InO4(O2CEt)(8)](2)(2-), consists of the two incom plete cuboidal Units [W3O4(O2CEt)(8)](4-) which are centro-symmetrical ly bridged by two In3+. The In3+ ions dissociate from the trinuclear u nits in aqueous acidic solution.
