Abstract
Reaction of FpSiHCl(2) (Fp = (eta(5)-C5H5)Fe(CO)(2)) with catechol in
the presence of NEt3 afforded FpSiH(cat) (2: cat = o-O2C6H4). While th
e reaction in the presence of 1,3-dimethyl-2-imidazolidinone (DMI) gav
e FpSiCl(cat) (3). The NMR investigation of the latter reaction reveal
ed that the hydrosilyl complex 2 is formed as an intermediate which is
converted into the chlorosilyl complex 3 via H/Cl exchange between 2
and DMI.HCl.
