Abstract
A new electrochemical oscillation is found in the redox reaction of O- 2/O-2(-) (superoxide ion) couple on a hanging mercury drop electrode ( HMDE) in acetone media. Both electrogeneration of O-2(-) on HMDE and i ts dissolution (i.e., anodic oxidation) are indispensable for the pres ent oscillation. A probable mechanism is proposed based on related pre vious studies.
