William Greenough attended Harvard Medical Scchool and did residencies
at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital in New York and Peter Bent Brigham
Hospital in Boston. As a fellow, he participated in the-first bone mar
row transplants in the United States. A subsequent clinical research p
roject on cholera in East Pakistan led to a lifelong interest in diarr
heal diseases, pursued at Johns Hopkins University where he currently
works on diarrhea and oral rehydration in the elderly in the Division
of Geriatric Medicine and Gerontology. He chairs the Endowment Fund fo
r the International Centre Diarrhoeal Diseases Research, Bangladesh, i
s a founding trustee and president dent of the Child Health Foundation
, and is a director and technical advisor to Cera Products, Inc.
