Abstract
During a 5-day period, eight patients developed septicemia with Burkho lderia cepacia. Heparin injection was found to be a risk factor. Hepar in was diluted with dextrose solution, which was aspirated from a l-L bag. B cepacia, genotypically identical to the blood isolates, was iso lated from this bag.
