D. Niculae et al., MICROWAVE-HEATING OF ELECTRIC CABLE INSULATED WIRES BEFORE THEIR IMPREGNATION WITH A HYDROPHOBIC MATERIAL, The Journal of microwave power and electromagnetic energy, 32(4), 1997, pp. 220-222
To prevent damage caused by the penetration of water into the insulati
on of electric cables used in underground electrical installations and
especially in telecommunications it is necessary to impregnate the ca
bles' wires with a hydrophobic material when they are manufactured. Th
e following paper describes microwave heating of the insulated wires o
f telecommunication cables before their impregnation.
